Key Summary

Verdant Care is built for plants only (no pets, no people). Your plant profiles, journal entries, local photos, and care reminders are stored locally on your device. When you ask for an AI plant health assessment or care coach response, your selected plant photos and prompt notes are sent over HTTPS to our backend and forwarded to third-party AI providers. Our server does not store your photos. You sign in with an anonymous Firebase account (no name, email, or password required).

1. Overview

Verdant Care ("the app") is an Android mobile application created by developer Rhyme Rubayet (Rhyme The Dev) and published under the legal entity MD AL AMIN (trading as Axinofy, Google Play Developer Account ID 5043385170777054406, package identifier com.verdantcare.app). The app helps users care for house plants and garden plants:

  • Users take or pick 1–3 photos of a plant and receive an AI health assessment.
  • The app offers a 14-day recovery plan with check-ins and before/after photos, care reminders, a plant journal, and an AI care coach (a Pro feature).
  • Plants only: Verdant Care is designed and intended strictly for plants. It is not for pets, humans, or medical diagnosis.

Identity & Sign-In: The app signs in automatically using Firebase Anonymous Authentication (provided by Google). This generates a random, unique user identifier. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or account password.

This Privacy Policy plainly describes what information stays on your device, what is sent to our servers and AI providers when you request analysis, what records are retained, and how you can delete your data at any time.

2. Data We Process

The table below outlines the categories of data processed by Verdant Care, why each is used, where it resides, and how long it is kept.

Network request metadata (IP address, user agent, request headers)Transmit encrypted web traffic, verify network connectivity, and protect server infrastructure.Processed by Cloudflare edge servers delivering our backend.Temporary operational logs maintained according to Cloudflare's privacy and security practices.

3. AI Processing

Verdant Care uses artificial intelligence to evaluate plant symptoms, propose 14-day recovery steps, and provide interactive care coaching. Data is transmitted to AI services only when you explicitly initiate an analysis, check-in, or coach interaction.

What is sent

  • The 1 to 3 plant photos you choose to submit.
  • The plant's nickname, species, and environment (e.g., indoor/outdoor, light exposure).
  • Any specific notes or symptoms you type into the submission form.
  • For recovery check-ins: progress photos and progress notes.
  • For the AI care coach: your typed chat messages and the associated plant context.

Transmission Path & Server Storage

Every request travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our backend running on Cloudflare Workers. Our backend verifies your signed Firebase token and forwards the prompt and photos to third-party AI providers:

  • OpenRouter: An AI model routing provider that forwards requests to models from providers including OpenAI and Google.
  • Google Gemini API: Large language and multimodal models provided by Google.

Our server does not store your photos. Photos pass through memory during the forwarding process and are discarded immediately by our backend.

Third-party AI providers process requests under their respective terms and privacy policies:

Because we have not independently verified the internal data retention or training practices of these third-party AI providers, we do not claim that these providers keep nothing or never use submitted data for model training.

Important Notice on AI Guidance

AI-generated health assessments, recovery plans, and coaching replies are automated suggestions. AI models can make errors, misidentify plant conditions, or recommend unsuitable treatments. Always verify instructions with local plant care references or professionals before taking irreversible action.

4. Purchases

Verdant Care offers an optional Pro subscription unlocking advanced features, such as the AI care coach and additional analyses:

  • Google Play Billing: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed directly through Google Play Billing.
  • RevenueCat: We utilize RevenueCat to validate purchase receipts, manage subscription lifecycles, and deliver active entitlements to the app.
  • Payment Data:We never receive, process, or store your credit card number, banking details, or billing address. All payment processing occurs on Google Play's secured payment infrastructure.
  • What We Receive: We receive only your subscription status (e.g., whether Pro is active, the subscribed product identifier, expiration date, and billing event ID), associated solely with your random anonymous user ID.

Purchase transactions are governed by the privacy policies of Google and RevenueCat:

5. Permissions

Verdant Care requests only the minimum device permissions needed to function:

  • Camera: Used exclusively when you choose to take a photo of your plant directly within the app.
  • Photos / Media:Handled through Android's system photo picker. The app receives access only to the specific 1–3 photos you select. The app cannot read or view your broader photo gallery or other media files.
  • Notifications: Used strictly to deliver local plant care reminders (such as watering, misting, or recovery check-ins) scheduled on your phone. Reminders run locally on your device; the app does not operate a remote push notification server.

6. What We Don't Do

To be completely transparent about your privacy, here is what Verdant Care does not do:

  • No ads: We do not display third-party advertisements and do not collect or use the Android Advertising ID (GAID).
  • No analytics or tracking SDKs: We do not embed analytics tracking SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics).
  • No crash-reporting SDKs: We do not integrate third-party crash reporters (such as Crashlytics or Sentry).
  • No location, contacts, or microphone access: We never request access to your GPS location, device contacts, address book, or microphone.
  • No selling or renting of data: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal or plant data to third parties, data brokers, or advertising networks.
  • No cross-app tracking: We do not monitor, track, or profile your activity across other mobile apps or websites.

7. Sharing and Service Providers

We do not share your information with third parties except as necessary to deliver the services described in this policy, or when you explicitly initiate sharing:

Third-Party Service Providers

  • Cloudflare: Provides backend API hosting (Cloudflare Workers) and database storage (Cloudflare D1). Cloudflare processes connection metadata and IP addresses to secure and deliver the service. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
  • Google Firebase: Provides Firebase Anonymous Authentication, assigning an anonymous user ID and validating authentication tokens. Firebase Privacy and Security
  • OpenRouter: Routes plant analysis and coach queries to supported AI foundation models. OpenRouter Privacy Policy
  • Google Gemini API: Processes multimodal plant photos and prompt contexts for botanical health assessments. Google Privacy Policy
  • OpenAI: Processes plant analysis requests routed via OpenRouter. OpenAI Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat: Manages mobile subscription lifecycle state and receipt validation. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Google Play: Handles app distribution and in-app purchase payment transactions. Google Play Privacy Policy

User-Initiated Sharing ("Second Opinion")

Verdant Care includes an optional "Second opinion" export feature. When you select this option, the app creates an image or text summary of your plant assessment and opens Android's standard system share sheet. You choose which external application (such as a messaging app, email client, or social network) receives the export. We do not monitor, track, or record what you share or where you send it.

8. Data Deletion

You retain complete control over your data. Verdant Care provides an automated in-app mechanism to delete your information:

In-App Deletion: Settings → Delete All Data

Inside the app, you can navigate to Settings → Delete all data. This action:

  1. Deletes all cached server-side AI evaluation results and coach interaction records.
  2. Deletes your anonymous Firebase authentication account.
  3. Erases all local data stored on your device (plant profiles, local photos, journal entries, reminders).

Server reachability check:If our server cannot be reached when you tap "Delete all data", nothing is erased from your device, and the app alerts you. This ensures that your local data is not deleted while server-side records remain orphaned.

What is Retained After Deletion (and Why)

Certain minimal records are retained on our servers after you trigger deletion, tied solely to the random anonymous user ID:

  • Usage records (timestamps and status only, no content): We retain the record of previous scan timestamps so that deleting an account cannot be exploited to repeatedly reset the free usage allowance (3 free scans per rolling 30 days and 1 free recovery plan).
  • Subscription status record: We retain active subscription entitlements tied to the anonymous ID.
  • Billing records: Transaction records held by Google Play and RevenueCat are retained for tax, statutory accounting, legal compliance, and refund dispute resolution.

Important: Deletion Does Not Cancel Subscriptions

Deleting your data or uninstalling the app does not cancel your Pro subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play. To cancel recurring charges, you must open the Google Play Store app → tap your Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, and select Verdant Care to cancel.

Manual Deletion Requests & App Uninstallation

You may contact us by email at axinofy912@gmail.com to request deletion of your RevenueCat purchase record.

Please note: Simply uninstalling the app from your phone erases local storage on that phone, but does not notify our server to delete cached records. We strongly recommend using Settings → Delete all data inside the app before uninstalling.

Data that has not been deleted through the in-app deletion feature or a verified request is retained while the app remains in active use. We do not promise automatic deletion periods.

9. Security

We apply industry-standard security safeguards to protect your communications and data:

  • All network communications between the app and our backend are encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).
  • Every server request is authenticated and verified against a cryptographically signed Firebase authentication token.
  • AI provider credentials and secret keys are stored securely on our backend server and are never embedded in the client application binary.

No method of electronic transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Verdant Care is not directed at or targeted to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has submitted information to the app, please use the in-app "Delete all data" feature or contact us at axinofy912@gmail.com, and we will take prompt steps to remove any associated server records.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your place of residence, you may possess specific rights regarding your personal information under applicable privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in the United States. These rights generally include:

  • The right to know what personal information is processed and request access to it.
  • The right to request erasure (deletion) of your personal information.
  • The right to object to or request restriction of certain processing activities.
  • The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.

Exercising your rights:Because Verdant Care uses anonymous authentication and does not collect your name, email, or telephone number, server records cannot be looked up by personal identity alone. To exercise data rights, you should initiate deletion directly through the app'sSettings → Delete all data screen, or contact us at axinofy912@gmail.com with your anonymous user identifier.

Governing law: This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising under it are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect enhancements to the app, changes in legal requirements, or updates to our operational practices. When updates are published, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
